Membership Renewal

Dear Members,

Warmest wishes for a happy and healthy New Year! We hope you enjoyed the holiday season and are looking forward to the exciting opportunities the coming year will bring. We truly appreciate your ongoing support of the Chemainus + District Chamber of Commerce—your membership helps us continue serving our community.



Membership Renewal Due Date:
Your renewal is due by January 31, 2025. If you are unable to pay by this date or have any questions about your membership, please don’t hesitate to contact us.



Below are two easy ways to renew your membership:



Option 1: Renew Online



Visit Our Membership Page:

Go to https://www.chemainus.bc.ca/membership.



Sign In or Create an Account (Required for Online Payment):
If you already have an account and forgot your password, you can reset it.
Please use the same email address you plan to list on your membership form.
Note: If you do not intend to pay online, you do not need to create a website account.


Select Your Membership Plan & Complete Payment via Stripe:
If you previously had a free plan, you’ll now need to choose a paid plan.


A one-time setup fee will appear at checkout if this is your first online purchase or if you have cancelled and are resubscribing. This helps cover the fees Stripe charges us.


GST will be added at checkout.


All membership forms will be automatically submitted to us once you complete checkout.

Option 2: Pay In Person



Visit the Chemainus Visitor Centre:


A staff member will be happy to assist you in filling out a paper membership form.


Submit Your Payment:


Pay by cash, cheque, or any other accepted method.
No one-time setup fee applies if you pay in person.


No Website Account Required:


If you do not plan on using our online services, you do not need to create an account.


However, creating a free account later is always an option if you decide you’d like online benefits (like easy event registration).


Why We Use Stripe for Online Payments

Security & Privacy: Stripe is a highly trusted payment processor with advanced encryption to protect your data.


Convenience: Once your payment details are on file, renewing each year takes just a few clicks.


Transparent Fees: The small one-time setup fee at checkout covers Stripe’s transaction costs. Paying in person avoids this fee entirely.




Frequently Asked Questions



Do I need to create an account if I’m paying in person?
No. An online account is only required if you plan to pay through our website.


What if I already have a free membership plan on the website?
Free plans have been discontinued. You’ll now be prompted to select a paid plan if you wish to renew online.


Can I cancel my online subscription at any time?
Absolutely. You can do so through your online profile or by contacting us directly.


What if I can’t pay by January 31, 2025?
Please contact us so we can discuss your options and keep your membership active.


Is Stripe safe for handling payments?
Yes. Stripe is widely used by businesses worldwide and is known for its robust security and encryption.

Member Online Plans

Hello, this is a quick message about the member plan on the current site, when you login via the email you gave the chamber and set your password by clicking forgot password, and navigate to the become a member page. All current plans are set to free, you have 1 full year from the start of your current membership start date to claim the plan via the website. If you do not do so, next time you renew in person you must ask us in person to update your plan on our site. You can also visit the chamber office any Wednesday for us to do all this for you! your renewal date is the date in which you originally got your plan and not from you get it on the site.

Membership Pricing Change

Membership Pricing Change

We are posting this to inform all members of an important update regarding our membership pricing for card and online transactions. While our regular membership prices remain unchanged, we must inform you about a new service charge that will apply to purchases made with debit, credit, or online payments.

New Service Charges

Effective immediately, all memberships purchased via point of sale (POS) systems (debit, credit, etc.) or through our website will include a service charge of 2.9% + $0.30. This fee is imposed by Square, our payment processor, and applies to each transaction processed through their system. As a result, the total cost of memberships bought with card or online payments will appear slightly higher due to this added fee.

This service charge affects both in-person purchases at the Visitor Centre and online transactions. Please be assured that our regular membership prices have not increased; the additional cost is solely due to the processing fees from our payment provider.

Avoiding the Service Charge

To avoid this additional fee, we encourage you to pay in cash when purchasing memberships in person at the Visitor Centre. This will allow you to continue enjoying our standard membership rates without any extra charges.

Accessing Your Account

Don't forget to log in to your member accounts using the email address you provided when you signed up. If you haven't set a password yet, simply click "Forgot Password" to create one. Once logged in, you can easily purchase tickets, RSVP to events, and access exclusive perks reserved for our members.

We understand that this update may cause some inconvenience, and we regret any frustration it may cause. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we strive to provide the best possible service to our community. What's New?

1. Updated Website Design:
Our website now features a modern, intuitive design that makes navigation easier and more enjoyable.

2. New Member System:
We have implemented a new membership management system to streamline communication, event registration, and access to member-exclusive resources. All chamber members are now in our online system and can access their accounts by logging in and pressing the "reset password" option. Your email address is the one you provided to the chamber when you signed up. If you have any questions or issues, please get in touch with our IT team or the chamber.

3. Enhanced Features:
Explore new sections, including a comprehensive business directory, an updated event calendar, and a resource center.

Transition Progress

While we are excited about these enhancements, please note that the website is currently 80% complete. Our team is working diligently to finalize the remaining updates. During this transition period, you may encounter minor bugs or experience changes as we continue to refine the site.

Known Issues:

The mobile site is currently a work in progress and undergoing an overhaul. You may experience missing features on mobile devices. For the best experience, please use a desktop or laptop, or request the desktop site on your mobile device browser.
